*2003-Daniel won the Tennessee State Closed, 18-year-old division as a 16-year-old.

*2002 and 2003-Sportsmanship Award Winner at the USTA Zonal Team Tournament.

*As a junior in Tennessee, he was always consistently ranked in the top 5 of the state in his age division.

Personal:

Daniel is the son of Pat and Jim Hangstefer. He was home schooled. His sister Katie and brother John both played tennis for University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. His brother Michael is still on the tennis team at UTC.
