Coach Peck says:"Katie filled a very important role for us off the bench last year. We spent most of the fall working with her in the outfield after she spent last year at second base, and she always provides a vocal presence. With more consistency at the plate, Katie will play a key role again this season. She is a smart player who understands the game well. We are looking for her to continue her progress and contribute in a variety of ways this spring."

2007: Played in 16 games last season, started seven. ...Scored five runs. ...Had one hit against Belmont March 17 that produced her only RBI of the season.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Sarasota High...named team MVP as a sophomore...earned the team's Pitcher's Award as a junior, and the Defensive Player Award as a senior...also earned the team's Leadership Award as a senior...competed for the Sarasota Quicksilver club team who were the 2006 Florida State Champs.
