Final Stats

Nashville, TN - The temperature may have been frigid in Auburn, Alabama, but the Lady Bison pitching was scorching.

Cold weather in Auburn, Alabama forced the Lady Bison softball team to reschedule its games against Georgia Southern and Auburn, but this did not phase them any.

Clutch pitching from sophomore Christen Campbell helped the Lady Bisons pick up the 3-2 win against Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon.

Campbell pitched the complete game for the Lady Bisons, scattering eight hits, striking out four batters, and allowing only one earned run.

Lipscomb earned the first run of the game when the Lady Bisons got in the head of the Georgia Southern pitcher and loaded the bases in the top of the fourth inning and walked in sophomore third baseman Kellie Sirus for a run.

The top of the fifth inning proved just as fruitful when Sirus hit a sacrifice fly to score senior right fielder Sara Simons.

The third run for the Lady Bisons came in the sixth inning when sophomore centerfielder Lauren Dortwegt placed an RBI single into right field to score senior catcher Jennifer Allsup.

Lipscomb batters picked up nine hits in the game. Sophomore centerfielder Lauren Dortwegt, went two for four with an RBI. Kellie Sirus went two for three with an RBI and one scored run, and senior first baseman Heather Collins went two for two. Three other batters picked up a run each.

The Lady Bisons improve to 7-9 and take on host team Auburn at 3:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
