The season is not over for the Lady Bisons, but they wanted to make their last appearance in front of a home crowd an impressive one.

Tuesday night at Allen Arena they accomplished their goal with a 3-0 sweep of Austin Peay State University. The Lady Bisons won by scores of 30-18, 30-21 and 30-25. The Lady Bisons finished the regular season with a 5-1 record against teams from the Ohio Valley Conference.

The match was also special as five senior Lady Bisons played their last home game. Libero Ann Mullins, middle blocker Alex Scruggs, outside hitters Jessica Enderle and Ashley Cox and defensive specialist Grace Gilmore were honored before the start of the match.

"We really worked hard to get our final match at home," said Lady Bisons coach Brandon Rosenthal. "I saw some good things. Our seniors played well.

"In games one and two we were completely in control. In game three we let up a little bit, but we let them know what we are all about. We wanted to leave the home crowd with something good on their minds."

Junior outside hitter Sarah Snider and freshman middle blocker Alex Kelly both had 13 kills, tying for the match high.

Snider also had 13 digs. Mullins and junior defensive specialist Jessica Turner both tied for the match high in digs with 14.

The Lady Bisons will play host Mercer next week in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament in Macon. Ga.

The Lady Bisons finished the regular season with a 17-11 record, the best finish in the history of the program. Austin Peay fell to 8-23 with the loss.

"We are ready to play in the tournament," Rosenthal said. "We are going to practice the rest of the week and take a couple of days off this weekend and that should be nice.

:We have to fine-tune some things. We are going to do that. We aren't going to overkill it."
